About Gilles Bussod
A Principal Scientist at New England Research, Inc., Gilles Bussod holds a doctorate in Geophysics from Université Denis Diderot - Paris VII, as well as a PhD in Geology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Gilles Bussod focuses his research on validating subsurface flow and transport models in relation to the environmental restoration of U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Defense sites that have been contaminated.
In addition to his work at New England Research, Dr. Bussod serves as the Principal Investigator in a Department of Energy project that aims to model and characterize the radioactive waste sites of Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Hanford, Washington.
Before coming to his present positions, Gilles Bussod spent seven years on the Radiation Advisory Committee of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Science Advisory Board. He has also worked as a Hydrogeologist and Geochemist at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
